I'm not really sure what you're asking, but I'm drunk so I'll throw my two cents in anyway. I have always been more interested in pictures of clothed (or at least partially clothed) guys than in pictures of naked guys. Clothing is language and label and context; in still pictures it adds a huge amount of information about the people involved that naked pics just can't convey. Haircuts, being something that people can intentionally choose about themselves, fall into the same category. And shared esthetics correlate well enough with potential friendship/intimacy that it's worked pretty well for me for years.

All else equal, I'd rather see pics of - or have sex with - guys who are as fully clothed as the action involved allows. My first and probably strongest kinks all center on clothing. I've got a friend who mocks my porn folder, saying "if it doesn't show genitalia, it ain't porn" - and a big fraction of the stuff I jerk off to doesn't show dicks or even have sexual acts.

The first thing I notice about a guy is his face, but the second is probably his shoes (or, better, boots) - I get preconceptions about people based on footwear all the time (not saying that's a good thing, but it's how I seem to be wired). My sexual tastes are pretty strongly connected to music subcultures, and clothing is something that people in those subcultures use to identify themselves to each other. Not always, and I'm not gonna consider someone "less punk" because he doesn't have the required number of studs in his jacket or whatever, but the association is frequent enough that it made some pathways in my brain. *This* is associated with *that*; *that* makes me horny, so now *this* makes me horny. Pure Pavlov.

Okay, I've got more to say on the subject - especially about the co-option of dress styles by gays - but I'd better do some apartment hunting while it's still office hours. More later.

Shoes say a lot - if they're too clean they turn me off.
Usually clothes have to reflect some wear to really get my attention - and a guy can't look like he pulls out his "punk outfit" on Saturdays if he wants to be sexy to me.
