I would really love to start offering t-shirts and other cheap stuff to people who dig my work and Cafe Press has a "no cock, no penetration" policy... Do you guys know of any service like this?

Thu, May 19, 2005 - 1:48 PMI'd love to give everyone the ability to put naughty artwork on their chests and pay a decent amount of cash for it without breaking their wallets.
Thanks ;) -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Thu, May 19, 2005 - 2:58 PMif you would have come up with idea much much sooner, before you left kansas, you might have been able to get it done real cheap. there are many sex-positive queer friendly anarchist kids there with silkscreening equipment that do small jobs all the time. they are very diy and independent (the quality is still pretty good) so any long distance arrangements are probably out of the question. but i'll see if i can find any one near san diego... -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Thu, May 19, 2005 - 3:30 PMThe quality just has to be top notch... and I was hoping for something that was easy for both parties... -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Sat, May 21, 2005 - 5:30 AMTry www.customink.com
Cafe Press is great for something quick, easy, cheap...but not much flexibility for the images.

This is what I keep running up against. -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Tue, May 24, 2005 - 8:42 AMHave you thought of looking for a local place that wouldn't have such restrictions? I know a website makes it easier, but at least you would be able to have your stuff printed. -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Tue, May 24, 2005 - 11:57 AMIt was suggested to me that I just print out/offer iron on transfers and let you guys go buy your own t-shirts and do your own ironing. I thought it was brilliant.
How do you guys feel about that? -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Tue, May 24, 2005 - 4:05 PMThere is a process/machine called the Gerber Edge. Among other things, it allows you to make T-shirt transfers, using a special medium and CMYK (IE:Full colour!) foils. This particular process is far superior to ink-jet transfer papers and lasts a lot longer.
There are may graphics companies that can utilize this technology, as long as they have the machine and order the specific products to do T-shirt transfers. We use this stuff at work, all the time! If you're interested, I can send you a link. You'd have to suss-out a local source, but it's a better quality alternative...

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Tue, May 24, 2005 - 9:27 PMironrash's suggestion seems worth checkin out. I was gonna say that inkjet iron-on transfers can be kinda shitty quality; I just made a shirt last week and the picture quality already wasn't great and then when I pulled the shirt on, the paper cracked all over.
What about silkscreening? -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Mon, September 12, 2005 - 4:41 PMWe got a hard cock in tightie whities shirt done by them, image by Kent. Decent quality and great price...but now that you've pointed out that policy, I'm not sure we would try an image again for our work shirts.

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Mon, September 12, 2005 - 4:44 PMI just ran across www.spreadshirt.com similar model to cafepress, but cooler graphics....
The site that drew me in was....www.spreadshirt.com/shop.php
Good topic : )
We've had trouble with local shops, even in SF, who refuse to show cock, even "art" cock ;)

Mon, September 12, 2005 - 5:59 PMI'm loving the Spreadshirt work... wicked! I'm totally checking that out.
Also, CustomInk... Do either of these have a "no cock" policy? -
-
Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Thu, September 15, 2005 - 1:17 AMyou said above you check customink, and you found the same clause. Which I thought was weird since we got a hard cock in tightie whities produced on tshirts there.....I scanned spreadshirt terms, but didn't see anything. I'd try in, in fact I may : ) -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Sat, October 22, 2005 - 10:41 AMHard choice...all of your work is amazing. Some of the ones that I find myself staring at more than others include:
Hotskin
Recycling
The Other White Meat
Human Urinal
Guess I sense a theme there...oh well.
I also appreciate all the updates on where we might be able to find your work. It's nice to know that someone is out there who's able to put some of our fantasies down on paper!! Thanks. -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Fri, November 4, 2005 - 7:04 PMDrub, I asked a graphic artist friend and he gave me a # for a local (los angeles) printer that will do the dirty stuff. He said the prices are good.... but honestly I think the posters from Cafe Press are a fantastic deal -

Wed, December 27, 2006 - 11:14 PMwww.cafepress.com/cp/info/h...olicy.aspx
Hmm... I could do "White Zone" images... as most of my stuff falls firmly in the "Grey Zone" or "Black Zone"...
Thoughts? -

Re: Cafe Press Alternative?
Thu, April 12, 2007 - 9:15 PMI know there is different definitions for "art" but it seems like you nude depictions fit in the art category.
I definitely think you can do white zone images, with bulging 501's etc and get away with it, and still be hot.
